Ambassador Car

Ambassador

In my last blog I  wrote about the colour of  a criminal  mind. That was based on an experience related to  my stolen Maruti  car. While talking about that incident,  I just cannot close without speaking about the  man I met at the station and his Ambassador car.

I had to travel to Tanjavur at least three  times to complete the process of identification of my stolen car and to recover  my car. The car was in such a bad condition that I had to tow down  all the way from  Thanjavur to Coimbatore. The battery was completely drained and engine oil was totally dry. Somehow  I mustered courage and managed to do all this  alone.

Most of the time I had to wait from Morning  to the evening to meet the Sub Inspector. Till that time I simply spend my time observing what was happening inside the police station.  Once, I met another  gentleman who was very tensed and eagerly waiting like me from morning for the  sub inspector. we became very friendly soon  and Slowly he opened up and narrated  his reasons for the waiting.

He bought an ambassador second hand car for 1.5 lakh  three months back and changed the ownership to his name. He had received all documents and spent another 1 lakh refurbishing the interior and exterior fittings. But the happiness did not last long, he  was summoned  to the police station and was  informed by the Sub Inspector that the  car he was holding was a  stolen car. He was Shocked to hear and could not believe. He was advised to surrender the  vehicle and documents immediately. There was no other option other than to surrender the Car.
But  his problem started  from there. It was not really not the loss of his car, but the threat he received regularly from various quarters  that he would  also be included as a party in the theft case though he was innocent.  They told him that, He could be accused of abetting the crime. He pleaded for innocence and spent some money. Someone went  to his house every fortnight and demanded more and more money and harassed  him. He wanted to put a stop to this torture and in that connection only he wanted to meet the Sub Inspector. I do not really know how he solved that issue, but I  realised immediately that his issue was  much more bigger and larger  than my issue. My tensions eased out and  I became more  courageous and peaceful  to handle my issue.

That lesson that I learned through that incident was "All our worries are just relative. Absence of a Bigger issue is  the real root cause for worrying about petty issues."   if one can live without worrying about smaller issue by simply relating to another bigger issue virtually, every  issue instantly reduces to  manageable proportion. But that is not the real truth. the real truth is, If  we are not  caught  into any of the such traps unknowingly by deliberate  choice  or by unintentional plot of some else,  it is not  because, we are intelligent or smart, but only because of Grace of God.
