Worthy Worm

The Worthy Worm:

The photo remains as the   landmark event of awarding All India first Organic Pesticide Certification India in the year 2012 for Neem based Azaractin. A commendable effort in collaboration wih Tamil Nadu Agricultural University for a tiny step in ensuring safe food in India.

In one seminar where the organic pesticide was introduced for the first time, the astonishing discovery of a useful worm and its useful effect on the vegetables were described. By using the chemical pesticide, the good bacteria was also being eliminated along with the bad bacteria. Being an engineering student, I was not aware that there is good and bad bacteria in the world. By spraying the chemical pesticide, the good bacteria gets destroyed along with the harmful bacteria, but later the absence of this good bacteria, other issues crop up. This phenomenal discovery led to the discovery of natural pesticide.
Then I understood that, all our theories are limited to the knowledge we have today and what we do now could be a foolish act tomorrow as our knowledge is totally incomplete. Nothing remains as eternal except the real truth. Our Limitation is the difficulty in understanding this and realising the worth of each creation by GOD.
The importance of this discovery was revealed to me when I happened to read an historical incident. During second world war, where the soldiers used chemical pesticide to remove the bushes, as these bushes were the breeding ground for mosquitoes. These mosquitoes were causing lot of problems to the soldiers. To remove these bushes, they sprayed the chemical pesticide and the residues of these pesticides slowly reached the pond during rain. As the pond got contaminated, the frogs in the pond vanished. Vanishing of these frogs led to the cascading effect and doubled the mosquitoes. Ultimately I arrived at the same conclusion of the theory I put forth ' The effectiveness of any system made by Man is limited by the knowledge of that time and no knowledge stands against time.” That means -at no point of time, no system is complete.
Irony here is the the good [in our eyes] and bad worm [ According to our eyes and understanding ] are allowed to live and grow together for the best reason known only to GOD. In real life, we fail to understand the principle that our understanding is incomplete and the perception will change with time and probably the good one will become bad and vice verse. At this point- the moment of truth -we will say 'each worm is a worthy worm'.
