Star Fish

“ A big banquet was prepared in Jesus honour after lazarus resurrection...“  Then Mary took a Jar of costly perfume.....and anointed Jesus feet with it and wiped them with her hair.” John 12 1:7.  A big banquet with all its preparations and expenses became totally insignificant. Wiping with the costly oil – a small incident before the banquet is mentioned as the most significant action. What makes an action very significant ? Anointing with oil was commented by Judas as ‘waste of money’ and even the disciples around would also have thought in the same way except Jesus. Jesus  felt the gravity of that action and the depth of love. Many times what we think as unimportant as an onlooker becomes very important in the eyes of receiver. Like Judas without doing anything, we may even  criticise the people who do whatever they could do it. The least thing as it may look in the eyes of others becomes the most value able to the receiver who understands your heart. It is possible only when you are in other person’s shoes and your heart resonates with the same frequency of the receiver.

-               I understood this when I was doing the audit of one organisation in Chennai. Where  2800 people were working.  In the closing  meeting, The management representative of the organisation said, implementation of the system in the organisation was one of the most difficult thing he experienced and it was difficult to convince the people about the system, till I made difference to their routine work through the system. He then went on to narrate a story of Star fish.....explain this..

-               Two people were walking on the beach in the early morning. They could see a person sitting on the beach at a distance and doing something. As they approached they found this man picking up the star fishes and throwing it back to sea. The star fish looses its direction when there is change in gravitational pull. Here the star fishes climbed on to the bank and when sun rises all will die.This man picking one by one and throwing it to sea. The people asked why are you wasting your

time and there are millions of star fishes in the sea.He picked one star fish and said this  action looks very insignificant in your eyes and but it very very significant in the eyes of star fish.

When your action makes a difference to the other person’s life, however small it may be in the eyes of other person, it could be very very significant to the receiver. Because you make a difference to other person’s life only when  you can understand other person  completely. Even you may think I am not able to give a bigger or right kind of help but if you do what maximum you can understanding him or her completely, the receiver [GOD] values  it much more than what u think.

Doing big is not important, but doing what is needed by receiver   makes the difference.
